In Texas You Have Two Colors Of Air Conditioning and Heating Licenses.

The Master’s License is a (Gold License Card). This is not a Business Card. It’s Like a Drivers License To Operate An Air Conditioning Company. To Qualify For The Gold License, You Have To Pass The Masters Exam. It

In Texas I Cannot Put Anyone On a Jobsite To Do Air Conditioning Work, Without Them Having A White AC License Card.

The (White License Card) Does Not Require An Exam. Even If I Hired You Today, Regardless of Experience, Even No Experience, You Would Have To Pay The State $20 To The (TDLR), Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, For Them To Run a Background Check On You, and Issue You Your White AC  Technician License.

The White License Card Holder Is Not Legal To Do AC Work for Themselves.

The State Rightly Mandates That They Must Work Under the Supervision Of The Master.

If You Let Them Do AC Work Without The Supervision of a Master, You Are Likely Going To Have Mistakes.

Employees With White Licenses Are Not Allowed To Do Manual J Heat Load Calculations, Nor Manual D Duct Calculations. So It’s Unlikely They Would Have That Experience. They Just Get Told What To Put Were.

Legally Only a Masters License Holder (Gold Card License) Can Do Heat Load Calculations To Determine What Size Of Air Conditioning Equipment is The Correct Size For Your Home Or Business. Too Big or Too Small can Have Big Problems For the Life Of Your AC and Heating System.

Only a Masters License Holder Can Legally Calculate Duct Sizing. This Determines Important Technical Air Flow Balances Such as How Much Cubic Feet of Air Can Get Into Each Room, Countered By Static Pressure. Static Pressure is a Necessary Component of Air Pressure that is like a Ballooning Effect.
